Annie
Duke's life sounds like a sitcom on steroids. In fact, her life almost did become a sitcom,
starring Jeanne Garofalo and produced by Lisa Kudrow. But alas the pilot was not picked up,
so the world will have to wait for some other mother of four professional player to build a
TV show around. Annie won the 2004
World Series of Poker
Omaha Hi Lo title as well as the ESPN-created invitational World Series
of Poker Tournament of Champions and its two million dollar first prize.
Annie studied cognitive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania before turning to poker. --
